Strategies & Solutions, the 2009 CNPS Conservation Conference Proceedings
Strategies & Solutions, the 2009 CNPS Conservation Conference, brought together hundreds of botanical experts, artists, amateurs, students and policy-makers. The Conference Proceedings compiles 51 papers on topics ranging from rare plant introduction, regional conservation planning, habitat restoration, and mapping the vegetation of California.
"The conference sought to highlight new and evolving regional approaches to conservation planning—approaches that deal with conservation on watershed and landscape-level scales, approaches that emphasize habitats and natural communities as well as rare plant populations. In the face of large-scale habitat conversion and anticipated impacts from climate change, regional conservation approaches are now recognized as the most effective and efficient way to conserve California’s native flora." (from the foreword by Gordon Leppig and Amanda Jorgenson).
